Welcome to the USS Helvetia. The year is 2385, a time where the United Federation of Planets stands at a crossroads. The scars of the past still linger, but the mission of Starfleet endures: to seek out new life and new civilizations. As the Federation turns its gaze outward and Starfleet reverts to its roots of deep space exploration, the frontier calls again.
The USS Helvetia is an Intrepid class starship that has been assigned to the far reaches of Federation space. Her mission is to patrol and explore the regions along and beyond the Federation's borders, where the stars are unknown, diplomacy is fragile, and where the line between ally and adversary is often unclear. It is here where the Helvetia and her crew will be tested.
Aboard the Helvetia is a crew tasked with more than exploration alone. They will face first contact scenarios, navigate political tensions, respond to emerging threats, and uncover the mysteries that lie hidden in the depths of space. With limited support and vast distances separating them from not just home but also the nearest starship, success depends not only on advanced technology, but on teamwork, trust, and the choices they make.
The Helvetia is a sim focused on exploration of uncharted space and the unknown, character driven storytelling and crew development, diplomacy and moral challenges in a changing galaxy, and action and survival along a volatile frontier.
Whether you are a seasoned officer or new to Starfleet, there is a place for you aboard the Helvetia. Together, we will chart new worlds, face new challenges, and define what the next era of exploration truly means.

The Helvetia was still in the final process of becoming a ship. Although the Intrepid class vessel had been commissioned, formally entered into Starfleet service, and issued orders there were still subtle signs throughout the ship that its crew had not yet completely settled into their new home. There were empty duty stations waiting for personnel transfers to be completed, quarters that had yet to be assigned their occupants, and department offices where equipment had been unpacked but not yet arranged according to the preferences of their new owners. The Helvetia's mess hall always had people. Especially at lunch time. Today, it was especially busy as news of the replicators had been fixed spread. No more apple pie and custard only for the crew.

Lt. Tavian Merkos made his way to deck 11 with the same unhurried pace as someone who just knew where to go and had no set time of arrival. He had taken a shower in the morning, gotten various meetings and such sorted and decided that as Chief Operations Officer it was only prudent to go and talk to the Chief Engineer. Many officers had their own little routines, or even quirks, when they reported to a new position. For many it was all about shaking the hand of the Captain, First Officer or Chief. The conference lounge on the Helvetia seemed slightly larger than Alistar had remembered from serving on Intrepid class ships in the past, but he dismissed it and simply took his seat. He had called for a senior officer briefing in order to discuss the standing orders that he had recently received from Starfleet Command. Knowing that he had a few minutes, he leaned back in his seat with a padd and read over the orders, just to keep the details fresh while he waited for everyone to arrive.
